Study of karyotype of the sturgeon Acipenser gueldenstaedtii Brandt (Chondrostei)

Arefjev VA

A karyotype of Russian sturgeon Acipenser gueldenstaedtii from the Azov Sea population includes 250±chromosomes, 98 of them being bi-armed chromosomes and 154 acrocentrics and microchromosomes. The Volga and Azov Sea populations of the Russian sturgeon do not differ in their karyotype structure. Variability of the diploid number determined in Russian sturgeon (2n=228-268) is a result of errors of the michromosome segregation in mitosis anaphases.
