The Department of Life Sciences and Biotechnology aims to promote both research activities and diffusion of knowledge in the field of Life Sciences and Biotechnologies.

The researches performed in the department concern the study of living organisms, including their structure, function, pathology, origin, evolution, distribution, taxonomy and environment interaction.

In our laboratories research focuses on multiple aspects of Pharmacology, Toxicology, and molecular interactions between natural or synthetic compounds and biological systems. Different studies are conducted for the development of clinical applications in the field of tissue engineering, regenerative medicine and to modulate the cell differentiation.

In the field of basic and preclinical biological science the Department reaches the highest standards of qualities. The intense activity of the Department attracts students, researchers, collaborations, and national and international funding.

The department organizes and manages 2nd level Master's and Master's Degree courses that offer training in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacy and Cosmetic Sciences.
